Answer the following question:

(1) Why do you think you thought that the turtle would be safe on his head ?

Ans: John saw the turtle when he was ploughing the field. He thought that the turtle would be safe on his head because the turtle might have been run over if he had placed it somewhere else.

Ans. The fairyman offered Jon the wind-cap because Jon put the fairyman on his head to keep him safe.

Ans. The condition that was associated with the wind cap was that no human hand would ever be able to take the wind cap off Jon’s head.

(c) Why did Jon become popular with the sailors?

Ans. Jon became popular with the sailors because he could supply the wind that sailors called for.

Ans: The sailors tried to rip of the cap from Jon’s head because the wind called up by the cap had been whirling about the boat tearing the sails and snapping the spars.

(2) How did Jon divide histime between land and see ?

Ans: John divided his time equally between land and sea, spending half the year on ship and half on land.

(3) Do you think John was rightly called ‘captain turtle’? Give reasons for your answer.

Ans: Yes, I think so that John was rightly called ‘captain of turtle’ because He was as much at home on water as he was on the land .

(4) Why did Jon want to return the wind cap to the fairy man?

Answer: Jon want to return the wind cap to the fairy man because the storm called up by the wind damaged the boat and got him into a big trouble.

Imagine you are out on the open sea in a boat with waves rising all around you. Would you feel scared or excited? Write a paragraph in about eighty words describing your experience of the sea voyage.

My Experience of a Sea Voyage

I travelled by sea last month, which was an amazing experience. The voyage was on the Bay of Bengal. I had a memorable experience while with my family, which I will never forget. There were waves coming from every direction, which at first worried me, but with time made me feel more and more excited about the whole thing. Since it was my first experience, I had mixed feelings. The water looked extremely beautiful. It was a sight to behold. The trip wasn’t something I wanted to end. I was excited because I could feel the waves. Overall, it was an experience to remember forever.

Suppose you had wished to perform on stage for a long time. On the occasion of your school’s annual function, you finally got a chance to do so. Write a letter to your friend describing how you felt when your wish was fulfilled.
